Sonovive Supplement Dosage: Label Directions and Timing

The Sonovive label says 1 capsule taken 1 to 2 times daily, preferably with meals. The vendor FAQ says one capsule daily, 10 to 15 minutes before a meal. One capsule a day is the amount both agree on. A 30-capsule bottle lasts 30 days at that dose, and each capsule holds 250 mg of St. John's Wort, so check your medicines first.

Part of our Sonovive overview. Last checked October 19, 2026.

Sonovive supplement dosage on the label is 1 capsule taken 1 to 2 times daily, preferably with meals, while the vendor FAQ says one capsule daily, 10 to 15 minutes before a meal[1][2]. Each bottle holds 30 capsules, so it lasts 30 days at 1 a day or 15 days at 2.

A single capsule already contains 250 mg of St. John's Wort, an herb that weakens many prescription medicines[3]. Check your medicines before the first dose.

How do you take Sonovive?

You swallow one capsule, around a meal. The label reads: "1 capsule taken 1 to 2 times daily preferably with meals"[1]. The FAQ reads: "one capsule, daily, 10-15 minutes before a meal"[2].

The two directions conflict on both count and timing. The vendor does not say which one wins, and no study of the finished product exists to settle it.

Our reading, which is inference and not a vendor instruction: start at one capsule a day, the amount both sources agree on, taken with or just before a meal. A second daily capsule doubles every ingredient, St. John's Wort included, and halves how long a bottle lasts.

What is the right dose and timing?

One capsule a day is the safer starting point, taken at a meal on a fixed schedule. Here is what each part of the dose question looks like on the evidence:

  • Serving: 1 capsule, with eight ingredients totaling about 747 mg[1].
  • Food: the label prefers meals. Bacopa and ginkgo can upset the stomach[4][5], so food is a sensible pairing.
  • Time of day: the vendor gives none. St. John's Wort can cause trouble sleeping[3], so a breakfast or lunch dose is reasonable if evening doses keep you awake.
  • Consistency: the FAQ says results take 9 to 12 weeks but names no test[2]. Daily use for a set period is the only fair way to judge it.
  • Two capsules: still far below trial doses for most ingredients, such as 4 mg of vinpocetine against 30 mg in the hearing study[6], while doubling the interaction exposure.

If you miss a dose, the vendor gives no instruction. Our inference: skip it and take the next capsule at your usual meal rather than doubling up, which keeps you within the label maximum of 2 capsules a day.

How long does one bottle last?

A 30-capsule bottle lasts 30 days at 1 capsule a day and 15 days at 2. Prices below were checked October 19, 2026 on the ClickBank checkout[7].

What should you avoid while taking it?

Avoid combining Sonovive with medicines that St. John's Wort weakens, and avoid doubling up on its ingredients. If you already take another supplement with ginkgo, St. John's Wort, huperzine A or vinpocetine, adding Sonovive raises your total dose.

  • Prescription medicines that St. John's Wort weakens, including birth control pills, warfarin, digoxin, seizure drugs and simvastatin[3]
  • Serotonin-affecting antidepressants and MAO inhibitors[1][3]
  • Blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs, because of the ginkgo[5]
  • Strong sun without protection, because of photosensitivity[1]
  • Use within 2 to 3 weeks of surgery or dental work[1]
  • Any use while pregnant or trying to conceive, given the FDA warning on vinpocetine[8]

The full list is in our Sonovive side effects guide.

How do you track whether it is doing anything?

Track it with a baseline hearing test and a short daily log. An audiologist's test before the first capsule gives you a number to compare later. Then note each day:

  • the date and number of capsules taken
  • tinnitus loudness on a 0 to 10 scale, at the same time each day
  • how much the noise bothered you, 0 to 10
  • sleep quality
  • any side effects: stomach upset, rash, dizziness, poor sleep
  • any new medicine

Compare weekly averages, since tinnitus varies day to day. Check the log at day 45. If nothing has changed, there is still time to ask for a refund inside the 60-day window[9].

Bring the log to your next doctor or audiologist visit. A written record of dates, doses and symptoms is more useful than memory, and it shows whether any change lines up with starting the capsule.

When should you stop and talk to a doctor?

Stop Sonovive and see a doctor right away if:

  • you lose hearing suddenly, or tinnitus appears in one ear only or pulses with your heartbeat
  • you get dizziness, vertigo or a seizure
  • you notice unusual bleeding or bruising
  • a rash or burning appears after sun exposure
  • you become pregnant
  • a regular medicine seems to stop working
  • you feel agitated or confused, or your heart races, while on an antidepressant

Call your doctor about milder side effects that last more than a few days.

Frequently asked questions

How many Sonovive capsules should I take a day?

The label says 1 capsule 1 to 2 times daily, preferably with meals. The vendor FAQ says one capsule daily, 10 to 15 minutes before a meal. One capsule a day is the amount both directions agree on.

Should Sonovive be taken with food?

The label says preferably with meals, and the FAQ says 10 to 15 minutes before a meal. Either way it goes with a meal, which may help if the bacopa or ginkgo in the formula upsets your stomach.

How long does a bottle of Sonovive last?

A bottle holds 30 capsules: 30 days at 1 capsule a day, or 15 days at 2. One bottle costs $69, which works out to $2.30 a day at 1 capsule, checked October 19, 2026.

Can I take Sonovive at night?

The vendor gives no time of day. St. John's Wort can cause trouble sleeping in some people, per NCCIH, so taking it with breakfast or lunch is a reasonable choice if evening doses keep you awake.

Can I take more than two Sonovive capsules a day?

No. The label maximum is 2 capsules a day. More would raise the St. John's Wort dose and its interaction risk with medicines, and no study shows extra benefit for hearing at any dose.
